A very impressive display piece for a collection. Is the stand it's on the one used with it?if so what does the stencilled lettering on it say.Thanks.
Looks like it says :Working Model, M1 Rifle Cal .30 M1"

Its not mine and it is quite impressive - but since its a scale of 2-1 - finding a place for it, even at a gunshow, is very difficult.

LOL It is indeed.A friend has a BAR,the only way he could display it was suspend it off the ceiling on wire hangars.

Very impressive indeed, I have only seen one other M1 cut away and it's owned by John Holbrook.

Hello,
Would you consider selling this piece? If you know if anyone with these training gun for sale, let me know. My son and I are trying to collect what we think is a leat four versions. We have the BAR. I think they also made a M1 Garand and M1 Carmine. I forget the name of the 4th. Thanks. Serge

I believe it's made of aluminum, in wich case the round would be about the size of a .50 Browning since the rifle is twice life size.
Yes, they are made out of aluminum.
I have the Browning 30 cal in the shipping/display case, M2 Carbine in the shipping/display case and a Garand on the display stand. I am looking for the BAR, Thompson & 45 pistol.
I have an incomplete Garand to trade, or sell?

I am looking for a training cutaway of the M-16 A1. We used these when I was in the Army years ago. Does anybody know where I can get one? How much are they selling for??

Saw one 'in the box' with all the parts at a gun show several months ago. Asked the guy if he was interested in selling it. After he stopped laughing he said "no".

I have found an M-16 A1. They are selling it for $3200. Does anybody know if this is a reasonable price?
Not even close to reasonable!!!

What is a reasonable price???
I built a cutaway Garand a few yrs back, I milled openings in the stock, gas cylinder, bottom of the trigger housing and the sight cover so people could see the inner workings in action. Also sectioned the bolt to see the firing pin. Amazing what can be done with a Bridgeport and a surface grinder. Once in a while i loan it to some dealer friends to put on thier table at local gun shows. always draws a crowd. JT

Here are my training aids. Pictured them out by the pool before I installed them on the end wall of my shop. Ceiling height in the shop is 16 feet. On the shop wall, top to bottom, M1 Carbine, M2 Carbine, M1 Garand, BAR, 1919A6.

I realize this is a rather old thread, but it is what a Google search returned to me.
Anyway, I have what I believe are rounds of ammunition for the Garand training rifle.
I have four rounds, black plastic, and slightly deformed (heat or age?).
Can anyone point me in the right direction to confirm this?
