This rifle was built from a Turkish Mauser I found in a pawn shop. The stock was broken and the barrel was so corroded you couldn't see light through it. I offered the shop $20 for it and they didn't even ask me to fill out a 4473.

I had a local gunsmith remove the barrel and strip the receiver which was in good shape and back in 1995 I started looking for parts. i captured a Rem. 30-06, 700 barrel that was a take off from a new gun. Then I found a old stock Barret & Carlson stock with a built in sling. New it went for $200 but it was no longer made and I bought it for pennies ($15). It took 10 years to put together a Johnny Cash, One Piece At A Time rifle

Here it is with a Timney trigger, a Weaver scope, and a reworked bolt and safety. 53660

What is it worth? It holds 1 MOA at 100 yards and is a very useful.

While a rifle assembled from parts like this can be a very accurate and useful gun - as well as a fun project, they don't seem to bring a lot of money on the used market. As far as an actual dollar figure, name a sum you like and go with that. I'm sure Lyman has actual experience selling such arms and can give you a real world dollar answer. SW

$300, maybe a tad more to the right buyer

basically a nice hunting rig built from parts,

keep in mind Savage etc sells a new hunting rifle, with scope, sometimes for that price or less
