The young seem to be getting sick a lot more often and
because of things past generations used to shrug off.
Maybe it's the modern day soft living where all people
seem to do is take showers and stare at their phones.
Seafood, especially shell fish if bad can cause you to be
violently sick but to lose all four limbs and nearly die
sounds like one hell of an over reaction. The fetish
for avoiding germs at all costs is maybe the culprit.
You need germs to strengthen the immune system.
My Mother used to say "You'll eat a ton of dirt before you die"

Several years ago Karolinska Inst published a study on Asthma rates in the Karelia (sp) region which straddles the Russian Finland border. Same demographic and genetics.

Anything that is growing exponentially is being weakened. You add a liter of water to a liter of pure grain alcohol and it will reduce the the strength of the liquid.
