These folks have a whole list of PDF manuals you can download for reference. There are quite a few weapons manuals.

I was hoping to find a manual for my SC1903a3. Didn,t see it. Jeff: do you know what the spring is for ( located on front section of stock, next to sling clamp)?

I think tghis is the one you want. TM 9-270 U.S. Rifle, Cal. .30, M1903A4 (Sniper's), Characteristics and Operation; and Use of Telescopic Sight (28 Sep 1943) (1.26MB). I bought a re-print caleed TM 9-1270, probably the same.

It's down under weaponry. The spring holds the sling band in place.

Off topic, but I'd like to thank you John Sukey,
presuming you are the one from Tucson AZ. That was nice letter you wrote to the editor of the (Phoenix) Arizona Republic paper (we call it the "repugnant"). IT was about blaming the NRA for the shootings in Tucson / Gifford.
Thanks
Bob

I have a training manual for the B36 and the B26, I made the mistake of trying to share information on the B36 and how complicated it was to fly. It was about that time I found members on reloading forums would not accept anything beyond; It was a very complicated airplane to fly.

And then there is the 'BLUE JACKET'. In the earl 30's the Blue Jacket claimed carbon tetrachloride when used on a fire could kill you. Carbon tetrachloride was banned in the late '50's, up until that time it was the law; you had to carry one.

One of the bad effects was phosgene.

Hey Tom, you might like these two manuals. TM 9-1270 Covers the 1903, 1903A1, 1903A3 and the 1903A4. The other one is: TM 9-1005-205-34. This one is specifically for the 1903A4. Tech Manual for support includes parts and special tools list, repair parts and special tools for the A4. I am sure many portions of it would also apply to the model you are interested in.
