When we were in our mid teens three friends and I
began messing with a Quija board - seemed like fun.
We each put two fingers on the planchette, middle
and index. We asked questions in turn, yes or no type
but it didn't seem to respond and we were about to
call it quits when it started to move. OK, so who's
pushing it someone asked to which the answer was a
unanimous 'not me'. We decided just one finger - a
bent index would make it difficult to push although this
was a wooden planchette which would probably be easier
to control than a plastic version. Someone asked it to
name itself and the thing started moving, slowly at first
but getting faster. I removed my finger so did another.
By this time it was started on it's surname and when a third
finger was removed and the thing was still moving and
gaining speed the last finger was jerked away, the thing
stopped. The name it had mostly spelled out was real, not
a jumble of letters. I might add there was no pot or booze
involved just four scared sh!tless teenagers.
I've never touched one of those things again, nor will I.
