View Full Version : I wouldn't mind some deflation
Deflation is kind of a bad thing I hear. My little wagon has worthless Harbour Freight pneumatic tires. They were flat again this morning. I have replaced all the pneumatics on the other carts. So I went to HF this morning to get some tough Flat Proof tires. Tires like those used to go for $6-7. It's Harbour Freight. Now they are $19.95. That's $80 for a little wagon. OK, fine, I'll go to Ebay. Another disappointment. There was nothing on Ebay for less than $20. Some at 29 bucks. I like woodwork. Maybe I'll carve some tires out of wood. Yes, I am cheap. I've made things ten times worse by being cheap in the past.
-there's no amount of aggravation some cheap SOB won't put himself through to save fifty cents-
I posted a thread not long ago about how Harbor Freight prices had caught up with most everyone else.
All prices are higher. Some have doubled in the past 3 years and HF has caught up with some retailers.
If there is a Tractor Supply store nearby give them a try. They won't be cheap but the quality may be better.
I also shop WalMart on-line. Some items come from WM, most come from 3rd parties. I find their prices to be better than ebay for what I shop for.
The Tractor Supply is 200 yrds. from HF. I'll check it out. I guess I could look at WM on line too, but I kind of hate WM (and Kmart). You know Chinese and all, but what the heck could WM be anymore C than HF? Actually, when it comes to tools HF has brands that have real names. Bauer sounds a little European, but I'd do some research.

It pretty much all comes from China, Mexico or some place other than here.
Like ebay, when you order thru WM it comes to your door or mail box. For $100 a year they'll even deliver your grocery's. No getting out in traffic. There is a $35 min order though for free delivery unless you pay them the $100 per year.
Name brands at HF? If you'll notice it's brand names originated by them. I don't believe any one else sells Bauer, Warrior, Central Pneumatic, Hercules, Predator, U.S. General and etc....
Good luck with those wheels/tires. I need to do the same with an old heavy generator I have.

When ordering things from Walmart's pick up service, you pay in advance; then Walmart substitutes an item that you don't want and now you go thru loops getting a refund. I don't do that anymore.

I tried the P/U service a couple of times thru WM. It was very disorganized and never done the same way twice so I don't do that either. I don't pay the $100 per year for grocery delivery (yet) because I like to pick out my own food.
As far as home delivery ($35 min order) I don't have too many problems. If something isn't right I use the chat session and they (WM) makes it good.
One of my daughters lives in Jersey City, NJ. She works in Manhattan which is just about across the river from her. She has been very pleased with the WalMart grocery delivery program. She gets what she wants and never has to be bothered with going to the actual store. That is a real advantage as she is the mother of three small children and active in local community activities. If my wife and I were not located so conveniently to stores in our area, we would certainly use the same WalMart program. Sincerely. bruce.

Wife keeps a candy bowl sitting around. The other day she bought a bag of M&M Peanut "Fun Size" in the smaller bags. Opened one last night and there was 5 chocolate covered peanuts in it. Felt of some of the other bags and they were the same.
Is that deflation?

Sounds like M&M gave you their king sized bags.
My old friend stopped by McDonalds a few days ago. He ordered a double hamburger. He said the hamburger paddy was as thick as a slice a balony. He didn't know how they even made it that thin. I haven't been in MD's in ten years.

For FF there's Chick-Fil-A, Arby's and sometimes Hardy's. The rest don't exist for me.
