Johnny Carson often spoke of there only being one fruitcake in the world. It was simply re-gifted from person to person because no one would ever consider eating it.

Depends on if you can make fruitcake or not!
If its lighter than a pint of Draught Guinness.
If it isn't registered & taxed as an alcoholic beverage
If it isn't not just FROSTED but ICED over marzipan sheet
If it wasn't FINISHED in August
Its not good fruitcake.

I remember seeing a fruitcake the first time around Christmas when I was about ten. What the heck is that?!

They have many uses: door stops, jack stands, wheel blocks, etc..

From a folk song about the Salvation Army:

We never eat fruitcake because fruitcake has rum.
And one little bite turns a man to a bum.
Now can you imagine a sorrier sight
Than a man eating fruitcake until he gets tight?
Away, away with rum, by gum....

Tried it once, when I was too young to know better.

Fry a thick sliced in butter, on new years.
But it has to be REAL fruitcake (look up) rubbish ingredients make rubbish food, even fried in butter!

Christmas Pudding takes the Cake.
Black and soaked in Brandy, so much so, it's
served flaming. Back when, in the pudding were
silver threepenny coins. You had to be wary lest you
swallowed them. The brought luck to the finders.
Pudding was delicious and relaxing.
