View Full Version : 1847Walker by Uberti
Picked one up last summer from Midway. Fit & finish is excellant. Used 35 gr by volume triple 7 3f. Ran a few cylinders w/round balls. Reasonably accurate, would the pointed bullets be more accurate? Shoots to the left 2in & 3in high @ 7 yds from a rest.

Uberti makes the best clones of BP handguns as well as other clones like the 1873 Winchester.

Never had any luck with the conical bullets in blackpowder revolvers. Used .457 round balls, and they shaved a ring of lead when you seated them in the cylinder. Very accurate at 25 yards in Ruger Old Army.
The blue on these revolvers is incredibly thin and will vanish
in an instant if it comes into contact with a commercial
kitchen type cleaner.
I found out the hard way on about an inch toward the muzzle.

My 2 Uberti revolvers still have original bluing after several years of shooting and cleaning. I only use products made for BP guns cleaning.

My 1858 is still all original finish, its like new.
I only use Ivory soap & hot water to clean followed by a warm water rinse, blow dry with a hair dryer & oil immediately.

I like the 1858 Remington over my 1860 Colt because I don't have to mess with that dern barrel lock.
