Did a quick google search. Other than being a bit more difficult to fully seat in the primer pocket, all seemed pleased with the Ginex primers. Did find one post where a fellow had some handloads that did not fire in a newer M-70 Winchester ( https://www.thefirearmsforum.com/threads/ginex-large-rifle-primers.232566/ ). Of the six that did not fire, all but one fired in a older M-70. Problem did not appear to be a bolt that needed cleaning. He isolated it to the primer being seated only level with the held of the cartridge case. Apparently this did not allow the primer to go to the bottom of the primer pocket. When he seated the primer into a case with the primer below the head of the cartridge case, it fired normally. Likely will need to clean the primer pockets to ensure good contact of the primer anvil w/ the bottom of the primer pocket to avoid problems. HTH. Sincerely. bruce.

Have to agree with you Bruce. Some folks just don't realize the requirements a primer needs to go bang. To high, possible going off on bolt closure, especially with a firing pin set up like the Garand. Not seated completely, it just does not fire off when the firing pin hits it. Just pushes it forward but not enough to go bang.

The primer pocket usually cleans up pretty well when you clean your brass if the old primer has been removed.

Yup . . . .
The legs of the anvil must be firmly seated against the bottom of the pocket.
