M1911 lanyards . . . .

Friend says he saw a 3-hook lanyard . . . .for a 1911.
I know of 2-hook, and of course, a single hook . . . .but THREE???

Doesn't sound U.S. Military. Not sure how you would use it on a 1911. There wasn't an approved lanyard for the 1911 until 1916, which are dated 1917, and a WWII lanyard for the 1911A1.
The magazine for the 1911 pistol had a lanyard loop, but this was discontinued in 1916.

A WWI Lanyard dated Feb. 20, 1917, and a WW2 Lanyard dated 1943.
