Chinese Flame Tree.

Soon all those bright yellow blooms will turn into pink "Japanese Lantern" looking seed pods. I will try to remember to post a shot of that when the time comes.

Pretty to look at but very invasive.

Have a similar problem with two in my back yard. Red Bud tree. Beautiful in the spring. Problem, it is prolific, seeds all over the place. At this rate, might just dig them up when they get to a couple of feet tall and sell them. This year I am guessing the seed count on the one tree may exceed 500,000 if not more.

The thousands (no joke) that come up in the lawn are taken care of by the mowers. At that age/height they don't reemerge when cut. Those that sprout under shrubbery and in fence rows are sprayed with Roundup. Those that get away from me and exceed 12" or so have to be cut and the stump painted with stump killer.

When I get a little older the tree will have to come down. For now the looks and shade outweigh the headaches of it.

Finding good people is a chore too--no one wants to work. As far as yard work goes most lawn service people don't know the difference between a petunia and a redwood tree.

Here's that same yellow tree 2 weeks later now that the pink seed pods have established.
