Able to buy a very nice Astra Constable II in .380 ACP caliber over the holidays. Pistol appears to be unfired and in great condition. Got it in an estate sale and it came complete with box, dox and one magazine. Pistol appears to be somewhat similar to the PP/PPK models produced by Walther. Appreciate any info on this Spanish made pistol. Also, like to locate a spare magazine. Comments?

Don't know anything about the Constable but Astra has been around a long time.

Ebay has a couple of 380 mags. GB has a few. The mags appear to be a little pricey.

Guess you know all this though. Good luck with your purchase.

You're right, they aren't cheap and not very plentiful either. If I'm not mistaken, Astra is no longer in business. MecGar usually makes decent aftermarket mags; I'll check with them.
Thanks!

I also have an Astra Constable in 380. Great little pistol. Mine was finicky with bullets tho. Now load 95 gr. JRN. Polished the feed ramp helped.

Seems like a nice pistola. Very well made and has a nice blued finish with some design improvements over the Walters. From what I gather, Astra went out of business in the late 90's early 20's and most of their manufacturing facilities in Guernica, Spain have been demolished. As nice as it is, I am hesitant to shoot it much as spare parts may be difficult to find in the future.

What'cha saving it for, your grand kids? Shoot it.
