UPS dropped of a new bolt and op rod for an M14 build. Putting the bolt together makes if feel so real theses days.

Bolts come stripped and need to have the roller and clip installed along with the firing pin, extractor, extractor spring, extractor plunger, ejector spring and ejector plunger. Used to use the conventional clip compressor pliers until I made up my own as in photos. My preference is the one made up from a locking hemostat. Nice thing about this creation is that you can lock the clip in place and have a free hand to use a hammer to put the roller in place. There we are, assembled and greased in a few minutes, ready to go. Whatta Hobby!

I've got one of those bolt tools some place. Didn't know they made a tool for the roller and clip. I've never attempted to R&R one of those since the roller appears to cover the clip.

Roller needs to be destroyed in order to remove it. Whatta Hobby!

What I figured. At least that was what was going to happen in my attempt.

If I'm not mistaken that bolt tool can be used on Garand bolts too.

Yes it can, one just need to move the rear pin to provide the extra length.
