Lubing with Slipstream

Just bought small samples of Slipstream Grease and Lubricant. However, the 1940 manual for the 1911/1911a1 doesn't really give concise lubrication and greasing instructions for the pistol.

Course the 1940 manual tells you to use hot soapy water to clean and wipe down the parts with sperm oil. Illegal to sell or own anymore btw (Endangered Species Act).

Any suggestions on using synthetic lubricants and greases in the hawgleg?

A synthetic oil is built from scratch from the elements needed to perform a specific duty. I guess if you were looking for the nostalgia aspect you could use NyOil which has been around for some 100 years.
