This is by Traditions, unblued & unsanded stock. Inletting was mostly done. Finished it this winter and can:t wait to shoot it, just picked up a repro bayonet.I am really satisfied with it.

P-53 was about the very best of the muzzleloading era. With the Prittchet bullet, it was uncommonly accurate. The cartridge design using a paper patched bullet was very fast for reloading as fouling was greatly reduced compared to the Burton bullet used in the 1861 Springfield.
