I know there were several varations of the 1907 sling and repurposed slings but i was wonder if anyone whould have an idea reguarding the sling pictured. You can tell by the holes it is very different than a 1907 as i know it. thanks

According to what I have found on the internet the sling with the odd hole spacing was made in California for the U.S.M.C. In addition to the odd hole spacing the keepers are sewn and also have a metal staple in them.
I have keepers with a staple, but did not know they were for this sling. Would you have a link to that sight? Thanks

I heard the same thing, the sling was made for the USMC
I had not heard of it before.
No stamping in the leather, thick saddle leather, made by USMC saddle makers on the Marine Corps post. Very desirable.
