Default Jap rifle Type 99 7.7...

Serial number 5721. Stolen a couple of years ago from a friends house while he had it to stabilize the stock for me. Rifle was a vet bring back from Guadalcanal. He was a mortar man , and his buddies presented this to him after a battle. The wrist is damaged from the mortar shrapnel from a shell he fired , several pieces still burried deep there-in. The stock was separating at the joint between the two major pieces when stolen , the reason it was there at my friends house. This gun was all complete with matching cover , monopod , AA sights , and mum. It also had the duffle bag cut under the bbl band.

Any chance you know the arsenal and series number? Both would be needed for a positive ID.
I own firearms not to fight against my government, but to ensure I will not have to.

Nope , but the mortar shrapnel would ID it from 10 feet away.
