I was thinking of build an adapter so could try it out.

CSP is what you make it.
A picture of your gun is worth 1,000 words. A crappy picture is only worth 100.
On You Tube there are a lot of videos by a guy killing nuisance birds with high end pellet rifles, and he has an adapter where he mounts a digital camera to the scope. Might look one of those up for an idea.
Here is one of them. I believe the videos go by "tedsholdover", and he has a website.

I haven't done it but have thought about it. Kowa has a bunch of adapters at this link: http://www.kowaproducts.com/kowa-digiscoping-adapters/ Most are for the I phone and they may fit other spotting scopes. If they don't fit yours, maybe the pictures will give you some ideas how to make your phone work with your scope.
I've never done it with a spotting scope, but HAVE done it with a microscope. A real PITA to get a picture that is reasonably complete, of the full field of view, at least when manipulating by hand.
OOTH, it's sure nice to have pics afterwards for other purposes. I can see a LOT of use for this when teaching others, or for picture albums.

I'm sure it would work much better now that I've upgraded my phone but a few years ago I made a bracket out of cardboard (not high speed low drag) for my Ip3 and attached it to my rifle scope and it worked. So I expect it would work with a spotting scope with the better cameras on the newer phones. If there is not one on the market I think it would be easy to make a bracket with some pvc pipe, etc and a dremel tool.
There's a gadget over at the local shop. "Digiscope" or something. I'll post a link later.
