Uncovered some USMC M1892 Helmet Emblems that I bought years ago. Forgot I still had some of these stored away. These were purchased from Naugatuck Novelty Co. and are said to have been stamped on original dies that were acquired from a Bannerman's sale. Naugatuck said that many of the dies he uses to stamp buttons and emblems are original dies that were purchased from Bannerman's. The emblem started out as sheet brass, 1/8" thick, and was ran through several forming dies which stamped and coined each piece several times to create the finished emblem. The fasteners on the rear are screw post with nuts vice the original type wire fasteners, so as to distinguish them from originals. The detail and weight of the emblem is impressive.

The emblem at the top is as I received them, the emblem at the bottom is one I tumbled and blackened, then polished the continents.
