My first Krag, SRS request please

Good Evening,

I made a horse trade and will FINALLY have my first Krag shortly. 1898 Rifle, 1899 date. Italian Walnut. SN: 112404. The handguard has been a bit shortened, I am told a common method to prevent a crack from getting worse. Rear screw on the rear sight is broken, easy fix.

I think she is a beauty! I can't wait to learn more and get her in my hands!

Any help is appreciated on getting to know her.

'artyldr01' - I answered your questions on 'Military Surplus Collectors Forum'. Your serial number, 112404, is not listed in SRS tables in Frank Mallory's, "Krag Rifle Story", 2nd edition.

Your model 1898 Krag rifle was produced around July, 1898.
