Red Dot

I have a early 1980's 44 mag Ruger Redhawk. The barrel has cutouts to mount a scope. Can a red dot sight be mounted to it?

Any red dot (tube type) that takes rings & then Ruger rings.
There are also some red dots that use the existing rear sight as a mount base too.
