    Default Renaissance wax

How do you use it? Does existing oil on firearm have to be removed?

My recommendation would be to ensure that it is only applied to a clean, dry surface. It's good stuff, I like using it wood stocks and blued steel surfaces such as my S&W and Colt revolvers and pistols

All it says on the can of Renaissance Wax that I have and use is.........

"Apply sparingly with soft cloth and buff gently. Dries hard instantly. Resists spillage. Does not show finger marks."

"Refined waxes blended to a formula used by the British Museum and restoration specialists internationally to revive and protect valuable furniture, leather, paintings, metals, marble, ivory, etc. Freshens colours, imparts soft sheen."
