16 inch 1912 bayonet

The blade has been parkerized. How can I remove that finish?

That may not be easy as it may have been sandblasted before Parkerizing. The blades were originally blued, and then polished back to white except for a small area in front of the guard. Then from the guard on back they were blued This one shows the bright blade except right where the date (1906) is.

What are the correct number of ridges on the wood grips? I heard 17. Mine has 17.
