Thread: Jimmy Carter

    Default Jimmy Carter

If Joe Biden didn't do anything else, he let Jimmy Carter die knowing that he was no longer the worst President the U.S. ever had.

I can’t badmouth Jimmy now. I didn’t vote for him either time, but I respect the man. Therefore I can’t bring myself to mention his name in the same sentence with…let’s go Brandon

He had some good humanitarian ways. Perhaps he did some good, just not as a president. I've read where the people of Plains GA where he had been mayor tried to warn everyone about him before the election but the media was left wing even back then so no voice against him was heard. His main fault was he was involved with that corrupt political party that still continues.

If I had to say something good about him it would be that at least he didn't deliberately try to destroy America.

Carter did great humanitarian work after he left the presidency, but he was a dismal failure in his years as President of the United States.

Bidens' problems were compounded by his keepers continually portraying him as a dawn to dusk whirlwind around the office and staff, but getting off a stage confounded him.

Carter managed to get the Camp David Accords done. Got Sadat killed though.
Continued Nixons dialogue with Red China. Didn’t help Taiwan though.

Double digit inflation. High mortgage rates and outrageous rate fluctuations on the prime.
Then there was 444 days…..and Billy.
At least there was no sex scandal involving old dirty clothes and cigars.

Lousy President because deep down he was too honest.

With inflation so high who could afford savings or CD's though? What good is saving a penny when you're having to spend a dollar?

Hum. 1980. Gas in New Orleans was around $1.00 a gallon. Rent was $210/mo. Quaker State/30 oil could be bought for $.50/qt./case. Food was not expensive unless you were going to one of the high-end restaurants. I made $5.00 hr. and she made $6.15 hr. Paid my way through seminary. Graduated debt free with a Masters Degree. Nowadays, have no idea how one could live so good in such a city. COL would have to many many times higher. Sincerely. bruce.
