    Default P 1853 Enfield

This is by Traditions, unblued & unsanded stock. Inletting was mostly done. Finished it this winter and can:t wait to shoot it, just picked up a repro bayonet.I am really satisfied with it.

P-53 was about the very best of the muzzleloading era. With the Prittchet bullet, it was uncommonly accurate. The cartridge design using a paper patched bullet was very fast for reloading as fouling was greatly reduced compared to the Burton bullet used in the 1861 Springfield. Will look forward to your range reports. Sincerely. bruce.
