Looking for a Drop in Barreled Receiver

Is there a source for M1 Carbine barreled receivers ready to drop in an aftermarket paratrooper stock? Does CMP still sell stuff like this? Any trick to this process?

I would try to locate an M1 Carbine at a gun show with a real crappy stock and make a low offer. CMP does not sell that grade of M1 carbine. GunBroker also has nice carbines in bad wood that sell at a lower price.

Thanks Johnny. Went to CMP site. Sold out of barreled receivers. Will try the beater angle.

If all you have (or are planning to get) is a reproduction paratrooper stock for this project you will need more than a barrelled receiver. You will need a complete carbine, less the standard M1/M2 stock. There is a difference. Second Johnny's advice.
