New York City's transit system was hacked in April, it emerged on Wednesday
Hackers from China accessed the IT services via remote log-in systems
The MTA required 3,700 employees and contractors to change their passwords
Transit authority said that passengers were not at risk, and no data was stolen
It is the third time in recent years that foreign hackers have accessed the MTA
The report of the hack came a month after the Colonial Pipeline was taken out
On Tuesday US operations at the world's largest meat processer were stopped
On Wednesday the ferry between Massachusetts and islands was disrupted
