Was another Russian War ship hit with a missile as unconfirmed reports are that Ukraine may have hit another Russian warship overnight with a missile. A lawmaker said one of Putin's ultra-modern frigates had a "problem" in the Black Sea.
Oleksiy Goncharenko, head of the council of Odessa, home to Ukraine's largest naval base, took to his social media this morning to call the vessel the Admiral Makarov, a $500 million frigate that was commissioned just five years ago.
He said the ship ran into difficulties overnight before publishing a report from a local news agency that it had been hit by a Ukrainian missile near Snake Island.
Rescue boats and planes have departed from Russia's largest Black Sea port of Sevastopol to the scene, unconfirmed, and flight tracking data shows a U.S. drone circling nearby.
If the Makarov is confirmed to have been shot down, it would be another extremely nasty blow for Russia after Ukraine managed to sink the Moskva, the flagship of Putin's Black Sea Fleet, last month, killing hundreds of its crew members.
Goncharenko, in a message to his subscribers today at about 10 am, wrote: ?The patrol frigate of the Russian Navy Admiral Makarov is depressed. The god of the seas takes revenge on the offenders of Ukraine.
