    Discontinued batteries.

This is what I've run into in the past with cordless power tools. I've had to scrap Skil, B&D, Craftsman and others simply because they quit making batteries for them. I had to settle with Makita, a brand I don't care for simply because they continue to sell batteries for their "obsolete" models.

Now, I'm using Dewalt (yeah I know it's B&D) with fairly good luck and sellers on ebay sell aftermarket batteries.

As far as EV's go, they need to get their chit together first. Batteries should fit other or all makes and the cars should be adapable for newer improved batteries as they become available.

Word will get out soon if buyers can't get their cars fixed and at reasonable prices.

For most people who own an EV its a second car. The battery issues and "range anxiety" are big reasons for this. The batteries need to be standard and kept in production. Internal combustion engine parts are made long after the vehicle they were originally in is long obsolete and that includes things like 6 volt batteries.
