I am constantly amazed at the total idiocy that passes for serious research at universities. I am even more amazed at the stupidity of the people or organizations that fund this nonsense. The only explanation that I can come up with is that all of the reasonable (non scientific) research topics have long since been studied to death and professors and graduate students have to keep looking for new areas to do research - even if everybody knows they are idiotic. There may also be a factor that people are afraid to turn down garbage like this for fear of being called a racist. By the way, the reason for using white lines is that they are visible in the dark (I will now submit this finding and ask for a million dollar grant)

It's because slaves worked in fields which shows just how stupid this is. It's like the fellow named Lynch in Oregon who did a lot to endow a local school district a long time ago only to have the District rename the schools named after him because they didn't want schools named "Lynch."

This stuff is universally started by guilt ridden white liberals, and not by the "people of color" who could generally care less. I'm glad to see that "Latinx" is slowly dying a well deserved death.
