Need Recommendation....Gunsmith in South Florida

I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area.....need to find a gunsmith in a 100 mile radius....any recommendations??????????

Did work on my RIA 1911A1, Course I did supply most of the NOS GI parts. And He did a safety check on my M1903, using Go/No Gauges.

...well that's nigh on 300 miles....does Orion work on 1911's? This is a pretty good Colt and I don't want it fouled up. The slide is stuck halfway and won't move. I took the spring tension off, but there is something solid holding it.....any ideas?

Barrel Link Pin loose and it drifted over to one side and jammed in the slot the slide rides in on the frame, I'm guessing. Since you said you took the
tension off the Recoil Spring on the slide.. Can you get the recoil spring out, and the Barrel Bushing out? IF the barrel isn't one you're keen on saving, twisting and rattling the barrel *MIGHT* loosen the pin out of the rail slot. You may have to try to drive the slide forward a bit with a rawhide or plastic headed mallet.

Otherwise, you might try calling Wizard's, and asking if he knows a good 1911 smith down your part of Fla.
