Just picked up my new Springfield Armory 5 incher today. Was going too house her in a Vietnam era general officers holster, but pac rats made a home out of it. Modifications this girl will get is a full length recoil rod, a extractor that will let me use steel cased ammo, extended thumb safety an slide release along with a mag well modification. Also will try get some Novak sights if they will fit an a good set of Pacmyer or Hough grips. Ben also thinking of getting a 4.25 inch upper slide setup for when I go to the movies or church This is my first New 45 in over 15 years an it feels good. Nothing feels better than real steel in the hand, better than plastic.

It's always fun to get a new 1911 and tune it up...I like EGW stuff but there is a lot of good stuff out there.

So true, could have bought a fully tricked out 1911, but heck then there would be no fun is doing it myself.
