It was shipped from Colt to Springfield Armory March 7, 1918. When it left Springfield, it's trail went cold.

hmm interesting... I have it now and it has had some work done I am thinking it is was a multiple war pistol. It was an Army weapon so being a Marine I don't have any desire to keep it but if it were a multiple war weapon I would keep it out of respect. I was really hoping to find out where it has been all of these years. Thanks for your help

my guess is that she has seen honorable service throughout her life................ unless it is a safe queen, that saw no use..............If it is in proper working order...I'd keep her, good 1911's are daam handy to have.......... & most of us will never be able to say we have too many of them..........

Being shipped in March of 1918 makes it a multiple war weapon. Like a soldier, it doesn't have to be a hero to be respected.
