    Colt 1908 Hammerless .25 ACP

Looking to pick one up to round out my collection. Can anyone provide a price range for one in fair to good condition please?

Also, is .25 acp still available, and is this round considered next to worthless for personal defense?

    Thanks.

Probably in the $300 to $600 range and yes the ammo is still available and yes it would be quite worthless for self protection.

Condition will dictate the price. If you just want a shooter, you might fine one for $300.00 or a bit more. As a last resort, 6 25ACP Glaser slugs delivered in quick succession might give you the chance to run away. Ammo is plentiful.

I wouldn't say it's worthless as a self defense gun. I carry one of these in certain situations - I can keep it holstered in a pocket with virtually zero printing. I can't hit much with it out past 15 feet, but as a last resort, close-in option, it's better than nothing....

I think a .22 LR with hp bullets would be more effective. Both cartridges in short barrel revolvers or pistols have only card table accuracy.
