"hat is correct height of the sear spring to engage the grip safety?

Replacing the original sear spring of the "common upgrades to 1960 1911A1 upgrades thread.

The right-hand spring seems low, just bought from local gunshop, installed it and the grip safety does not engage,

If I place it on flat surface , how high should the right-hand leaf raise up [or needs to be bent up]??

    Thanks.

    never measured,

was taught to just bend it up to make it work,
    for the grip safety,

the other 2 are a bit different, but never measured them either

That's what I was taught in 9th ID armorer's school.
Enfield, everything else is just a rifle. Unless it's a Garand.

Don't have Kuhnhausen handy or I'd check. Probably in there.
