I am one lanyard loop away from my "replica" M1911A1 being complete. :-) The Remington R1 is very close... a couple parts changes and I'm nearly there. Just waiting for Cylinder and Slide to install the lanyard loop into the mainspring housing.
It's been a lot of fun getting here and I was not only surprised but gratified to learn that the M1911 (long trigger, flat housing) and M1911A1 (short trigger, arched housing) pretty much shoot the same for me.
