Shooter Remington-Rand, help

I picked up a RR in the early 1 million range, somebody had taken it down and
was unable to get her back together. It was all there except the recoil spring.
Looking to make it my truck gun. Have a "wolff precision load rated conventional
recoil spring" rated at 16 lbs. It is about half inch longer that several of my usgi
springs and feels very stiff as I work the slide. Will this spring work on this old RR ?

Should work fine with full factory loads but any lighter target loads might be a problem. Try it out and see........
