Nice, and very nice finish. I'm still looking for a set of 11 row stocks for mine.

      And 2 Springfield mags - a bonus.

      A very rare pistol

Hammer doesn't appear to be correct in the photo...looks too short. A better picture perhaps? Thanks.

I think it is the angle of the photo that makes it look too short, but is correct. Really nice except where Bubba tried to pry and beat the slide stop out, and unscrew the magazine catch lock.

Now I have a question for those in the know. Please refer to my attached pic. 1914 SA #83355. The area in question is the angled portion of the slide directly below the SEPT date, just forward of the receiver. It is much more gradual than most I have seen. It's the same on both sides. Thoughts?

Refinished and buffed hard in that area. Might not even be a 1914 slide. The 1915-1917 slides don't turn down as abruptly, but even they turn down more than the one shown.

I set out to get three firearms I have always wanted ... 1) a Lend Lease (1941) M1 Garand; 2) an original low numbered Rock Island 1903. the last one is a Springfield M1911. Doesn't have to be perfect, or even beautiful - zero to little finish would be fine - just correct/original.

A Marine friend of mine, Spent some time @ the chosin, Showed me a Garand he had. All correct for a lend-lease, except a newer stock. He had gone to a gunsmith years ago. My friend did not know the value. Smith said, "I will put a nicer stock on for you" End of story!

My 80,xxx range Springfield has a pretty sharp downturn.
