USS Texas first and second serial numbers

promise to buy better camera showing crisp detail. I also have serial number 43980 from the USS Texas in 100% original condition that I bought from the Jan 13 Little John's Auction. The others have replacement rear sights to the later square version. Possibly upgrade while in service ?? They appear to have wear/finish consistent with both guns.
Still looking for a good Maine and Delaware piece.

If I could ever find one that had been assigned to either the USS Washington (BB56) or the ACR Washington/Seattle, I would be highly interested!!

Does the Washington association have ship's records of pistols assigned to the ship? I have contacted the historians at the USS North Carolina and Alabama asking them to check if they retain individual serial number records.

Incidentally... USS TEXAS BB-35 is coming up on her 100th birthday... Or the 100th anniversary of her commissioning, anyway, in March 2014.

John had two Delaware 1911 Navy pistols up until a short time ago. He still has one of them and hopefully he will show us a picture of it again , for our viewing pleasure.

I received a response from the Curator's looking for a list of small arms aboard each ship during WW2 and their serial numbers, if available;
here is the USS North Carolina's:

"Yes, we possibly have information about the small arms that we onboard BB55 during the war in our archives. But that will take some time to research."
