    1911 Remington Arms UMC ser. # 1788, Help Identify

    I'm trying to identify a 1911 Remington Arms UMC Co. service pistol, Serial # 1788. It is marked U.S. Property. It has E C C stamped above the magazine release on the left side. I'm wondering about a manfacture date and anything else that might make this service pistol unique.

              Thank you for the information. The slide is matching. Is there any way to know where it was shipped to, Navy or Marines ect. ?

                  In all likelihood shipped to Springfield Armory. Of the October 10 shipment, 12 pistols were shipped to Raymond Engineering Company.
