    Magazine safety on Canadian Inglis?

    Magazine safety on Canadian Inglis?

Browning HPs manufactured in Belgium under German control were manufactured without the magazine safety.

Inglis Browning HPs were manufactured with the magazine safety, but I’m wondering if those in Canadian service had the magazine safety removed. The M1911 had been issued to some Canadian units, so they would have been used to a pistol without a magazine safety.

If I carried an HP in harms way, the pin that held the mag safety in my pistol would surely have fallen out.

The Nazi era Police Lugers were retrofitted with a magazine safety, but it proved to be so troublesome that they were removed.

I have a few pistols with the magazine safety which I dislike quite a bit. I like to remove the mag and operate the slide to check for a empty chamber. After visually verifying a empty chamber, I want to ease the hammer down. With the mag safety I can't do that.
