Slide markings under Fring Pin Stop

    Groatings Addicts:

I have a Remington 1911a1 in the 1527xxx range. With a Remington marked slide, with only (as far as I can tell) a "G" stamped under the firing pin hole on the slide. Due to the fact the flat around the firing pin hole has slam markings from what I'm guessing is dry firing with the stop and firing pin removed, I can't tell if there were any serial numbers stamped like I've seen in other postings here.
Question: IF there are no stamped serial numbers under the firing pin stop, is it *safe* to say the slide isn't original to the receiver?

Only Colt serial numbered the slides to the receiver, and this was from the 710001 to slightly less than the 1.14 million serial number range. A few very early Transitions had their slides serial numbered, but this was discontinued.
