Held one in my hands last week. Beautiful book but covers just too modern equipment for me."Socialism is the Philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." ~Winston ChurchillComment

I received my copy of the book. I decided to purchase it based on the recommendation of a friend and fellow collector. I must say that it's really a well done historical record of what the U.S. military has used in pistol form post WW II. I found it to be quite interesting. It starts out with post WW II 1911A1's and goes up through the Beretta 9MM's and up to 2011 when the SPEC OPS groups started to favor H&K's and other types. It also has a brief history of the U.S. forces marksmanship program, with many interesting photos of the Springfield Armory .45 match pistols fabricated for the Army pistol team and pictures of the matches. I enjoyed that since I shot bullseye pistol during the the 70's and 80's.
Overall, a good book well worth $100 for the serious collector and historian of U.S. martial arms.
