CMP 1911A1 Sales Program

In late April, the CMP announced that it was stopping shipments of 1911s during an audit. Six weeks hence, there is no resumption of sales. Is this a legitimate audit, or a political sideswipe to stop it entirely? Does anyone who is not committed to secrecy know what is going on?

I saw something about the CMP will start selling a 1911A1 reproduction at a lower price than the surplue pistols. Gearing up for the new pistol?

Have not found the CMP to be anything but forthright in their communications. No reason to look for or expect to find some ulterior motive. Will wait to see what else develops. Sincerely. bruce.
