    Walther PPK replacement recoil spring

Ordered a replacement recoil spring for my Interarms .380 PPK. The replacement spring is 2.9inches long with 10 coils compared to the current spring which is 2.5 inches long with 8 and a half coils.

I can't get the slide to fit over the new one. So the question is, am I just too weak or incompetent or is the replacement spring just too long?

If you have a PPK, I would appreciate hearing how long the spring is.

    Thanks in advance.

I know you know this but just in case. The PP and PPK recoil spring has a small and large end, the small end fits over the barrel the larger diameter end fits in the slide. If you have it reversed, you will never get the slide on.

      Hi Ron,

I know about the difference in spring diameter and did have it installed correctly, but thanks for responding. I think they must have sent me a spring for a PP not a PPK.

With a PPK/s the recoil spring should be the same as the PP. Both use the same slide.

Not so. The PPK/S used the PP receiver with the PPK slide/barrel.
