The wife and I used the Rock Island to qualify for our CHL. We both qualified with a perfect score after 40rds. You are allowed 50 but if you have no misses you can do it in 40.
The best part for me was when we got done with the first 20rds and my buddies came over to tell me I obviously failed since I only put one hole in the target and I wouldn't know where to shoot because the X was gone. The instructor said "Man, that's two classes in a row that people have brought out some really nice weapons." I laughed and said "This thing? This is just a bargain basement bottom of the barrel Rock Island."
My wife was giddy as a school girl on the way home and said "Oh, it feels so good, I shot the much more big gun than most of the men and got perfect!"
I was never a big 1911 fan till I owned one
