    1918 Remington Arms-UMC M1911 photos

For there to have been 21,676 Remington Arms-UMC M1911 pistols procured by the U.S. government in 1918 and 1919, they certainly are difficult to find in all original condition. Most I see are refinished and/or have a lot of parts swapped out on them. This is my best condition UMC and is one of the better ones I've seen.

Nice Pistol Scott. I brought mine up in the next post so as to compare your very early example to my late example.

Scott, nice pistol. What method did the Remington use to blue their pistols? Was it rust blue?

No, oven blue. Surface prep very much like the late Colts we call "black army".

Beauty Scott... How about parting it out so I can fix mine :-)

I might consider that...but don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen.
