    Website showing magazine markings? . . . .

    Gents . . . .

I'm about to come into posession of a goodly number of M1911 and M1911A1 magazines . . . . ALL of them are U.S. GI. (I hope at least ONE has a lanyard loop.)

I am in need of identifying the makers of these, and hoping someone has knowledge of a website that can help.

    Many thanks, --Jim

          Jim-

Here are two recent and informative magazine related pictorial posts that you may want to check out.

From another thread... Looking good, now can we see some pre-WWI and between the wars mags? ;) Well CFC, funny you should ask... The first four mags, from left to right in all pics are: Colt Type 1C - exposed base plate sides, hardened to below magazine catch slot. Colt Type 2B - punch & slot...

The photos should have been better, the sun was going down The 5 Magazines are all post 1940 Full Blue Pinned Base Plates The 2 top mags are colt unmarked military The center is a transfered commercial /military, sand blasted base plate The bottom 2 are commercial government model...

          Good luck!

          Ray
