Stock identification.....

I found a pair of double diamond wood 1911 stocks. One side has 11 rows of checkering, the other side 13.

Would that make one side Springfield and the other Remington-UMC?

These have age and enough wear that I'm confident that they are originals.

Thoughts?

Can't say without seeing the stocks, but Springfields did have 11 rows of checkering, but both late Colt 1911 and Remington-UMC had 13 rows. Your chances are much greater that the 13 row will be Colt.

They both look like Colt to me. On one you can see the heart shape cutouts from a late 1911. In Clawson's Collector's Guide he shows the Colt stocks to be 15 rows ±, so there is no reason the 13 row Colt aren't 13± also.
