That once belonged to someone we all know and trust. Correct?

Yes, Chuck Clawson, the Dean of knowledge of the Model 1911. I was honored to acquire the iconic first day production serial number 39 used on the cover of his books on the 1911 as well as this Singer and two mint Navy's used in his books. Chuck has done more than anyone to educate us and authenticate the evolution of the 1911

By the way, he did this and a career as an aviator with many, many thousands of hours from early single engine airplanes to the "Queen of the Skies, the Boeing 747.

He's the most humble, honest and decent person on the planet though. Real class

Mr Holbrook: been meaning to ask you; have you ever had to eject or bail?

Nope thanks goodness .... The A3 Series did not have ejections seats The USAF B-66 did have them...We took off once from the Mayport NAS and flew through a flock of Canadian geese which damaged both J-57s however they both kept running and got up back to Sanford..

That is a wonderful 1911, really well machined. I am really inexperienced with 1911s. I really like the widespur hammer, which I think is mostly a 1911 hammer, is that correct? My Argentine 1911A1 has that type of hammer on it. Did any other 1911A1s come original with the widespur hammer? The finish looks blued, but I can't always tell. Some of my parkerizing often comes out a bit close to blued looking.

That is a beautiful Singer. Looks like it was never issued, or saw a holster!
